Terms of Service
The short version
Majakka is free and is provided as-is. Your account, your organization and everything in it can be changed, suspended or permanently deleted at any time, without notice, without a reason and without any obligation to restore it or compensate you. There is no guarantee the service will work, stay available, or exist tomorrow. Keep your own copy of anything you cannot afford to lose.
These terms are an agreement between you and the operator of Majakka (“we”, “us”). By creating an account or using the service you accept them. If you do not accept them, do not create an account and do not use the service.
1. What Majakka is
Majakka is a project management tool offered free of charge. There is no paid tier, no subscription and no contract for service levels. You are not a customer in the commercial sense, and nothing here creates an obligation on us to provide the service to you.
2. Your account
You are responsible for the accuracy of the details you provide, for keeping your password secret, and for everything done through your account. Tell us promptly if you believe someone else has access to it. You must be old enough to form a binding contract where you live.
One person, one account. Do not share credentials. If you invite other people into an organization you control, you are responsible for who you let in and what they can then see.
3. Deletion, suspension and change — without notice
This section is the one that matters most, so it is stated plainly.
- We may delete, suspend, disable, restrict, alter or refuse access to your account, your organization, your projects, your tasks and any other content at any time.
- We may do so without notice, without warning, without explanation and without any right of appeal or review.
- We may do so for any reason or for no reason at all, including reasons unrelated to anything you have done — for example because we are shutting the service down, reducing its cost, changing how it works, or simply choosing to.
- We may delete the entire service and every account in it, permanently, at any moment.
- Deletion is permanent and irreversible. We are under no obligation to keep backups, to restore anything, to provide an export, to give you advance warning, or to give you an opportunity to retrieve your data first.
- You have no claim, remedy, refund or compensation of any kind arising from any of the above, and you agree not to bring one.
Because of this, you should treat Majakka as a convenience and never as a system of record. Keep your own copies of anything important.
4. No warranty
The service is provided “as is” and “as available”, with all faults and without warranty of any kind, whether express, implied or statutory. To the fullest extent permitted by law we disclaim all warranties, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, accuracy and non-infringement.
We do not warrant that the service will be available, uninterrupted, timely, secure or error-free, that defects will be corrected, that data will be preserved, or that the service will meet your requirements. Any material you obtain through the service is used at your own risk.
5. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, punitive or exemplary damages, nor for any loss of data, loss of profits, loss of revenue, loss of goodwill, business interruption, or the cost of substitute services — whether or not we were advised such loss was possible, and regardless of the theory of liability.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability for all claims relating to the service is limited to zero, this being a service supplied free of charge.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions or limitations. In those places the exclusions above apply only as far as the law allows, and our liability is limited to the smallest amount permitted.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to use Majakka to:
- break the law, or help anyone else do so;
- store or transmit malware, or anything intended to damage or disrupt the service or its users;
- attempt to access another organization's data, probe or test the security of the service without our written permission, or work around any technical limit or access control;
- place an unreasonable load on the service, including by automated scraping or bulk requests;
- upload content you do not have the right to upload, or that is unlawful, abusive or infringing.
We may act on a suspected breach immediately and without notice, as described in section 3.
7. Your content
What you put into Majakka stays yours. You grant us only the permission we need to operate the service — to store, copy, display and process that content so it can be shown back to you and to the people you have shared an organization with. This permission ends when the content is deleted.
You are responsible for what you upload, including having the right to upload it, and for its lawfulness.
8. Ending it
You may stop using Majakka at any time and delete your organization or leave it from within the app. We may end your access at any time under section 3.
Sections 3, 4, 5, 7, 9 and 10 survive the end of this agreement.
9. Changes to these terms
We may change these terms at any time. The version and date at the top of this page will change when we do. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the new terms. If you do not accept them, stop using the service and delete your account.
10. General
If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest continues to apply and the unenforceable part is narrowed only as far as needed. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it. You may not transfer your rights under these terms; we may transfer ours in connection with a transfer of the service.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, such as liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
